Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm
Julianne Moore as Dr. Sarah Harding
Pete Postlethwaite as Roland Tembo
Vince Vaughn as Nick Van Owen
Directed by Steven Spielberg

Synopsis: apparently, living creatures are designed to be exploited. At least, that’s the plan for Peter Ludlow, the new CEO of InGen and John Hammond’s nephew; he wants to remove the dinosaurs from Isla Sorna and take them to a place where even more people can see them and make him tons of money. Let’s see if Ian Malcolm can prove his point to more people this time around!

Number two is pretty silly. It’s a lot of pandering. Such a silly script! It does, however, have a bajillion quotable moments: “Don’t go into the long grass!” “Let’s get this moveable feast underway!” “Mommy’s very angry.” I could continue, but then you have no reason to watch it.
Well, maybe a couple…
• The cast is really fun. Goldblum is fab in this role; sarcasm is possibly his first language. Peter Stormare is a great addition to any movie. Postlethwaite is incredible.
• The dinosaurs rock. Especially the raptors. Surprisingly good at digging. Better than the T-Rex, anyway.
• Ludlow’s tech tools on Site B are fun—I guess if you really HAVE to catch dinosaurs, you’d want his vehicles.

It’s not a Crystal Skull, but pretty close to a Temple of Doom…silly, but always fun. Some decent gags, good use of gore, and a cool new setting (the T-Rex in San Diego is pretty amazing).

Weepy Meter: 0/10 That’s a zero, folks. Zero for me. No tears. Not even for John Williams.
Man Meter: 3/10 If you’re lucky.
Overall Rating: 5/10 Maximum silliness. Excellent cast. They earn a number in the middle.
